motherload of free bottles
One of the good things about the recent Montgomery Advertiser article on homebrewing was that it caught the attention of a local business manager who had a ton of free bottles to give away. He contacted the Auburn Brew Club about the bottles, and now we have around 1,000 cases of 12oz, plain-jane, crown-cap, brown bottles with no raised lettering, making them perfectly compatible for BJCP sanctioned competitions. We’d name the benefactor specifically but have been warned about some commercial vendors out there who will hound such a company for free stuff in the future, only to turn around and sell it for profit. Sold at retail, these bottles would go for around $10 to $13 per case, or a total of possible $13,000, but it gives us great pleasure to give these bottles away for free to area homebrew clubs!!! Special thanks to everyone from the Auburn Brew Club (Christian, Scott, Tyler, Nathan, Ben L, Michael J, Priscilla, Rob B, Harold, Mitch, Mike C and Michelle) who stepped in to help unload these bottles, one case at a time, into our 10×20 storage room, which is now filled wall-to-wall, front-to-back, floor-to-ceiling. Happy bottling!
