announcement list and member listserv basics
We haven’t updated our website issues page in quite a while, but we’ll get to it soon. In the meanwhile, here are a few tidbits of information that some may find helpful.
We have 2 email lists.
Announcement List. One is a one-way news and announcements list used to send alerts or newsletter type stuff to those interested in homebrewing activities and events in and around Auburn. If you’d like to be on this announcement list, just fill out the contact form and say so. We’ll be happy to add you.
Discussion Listserv. The other is a discussion listserv for members. We are now adding folks to the brew club’s discussion listserv after they have attended a brew club event.
Here are a few listserv tips for existing listserv members:
If 3 messages to you “bounce” the system automatically unsubscribes the address.
You can visit this link to read past messages all the way back to when the list was created. It is a private archive, and you’ll need to log into it using the email address with which you are subscribed and the password automatically sent to you in your welcome message when you subscribed.
You can send certain commands to the system by addressing an email to the following from the email you’re subscribed to the listserv with:

If you no longer have that password, or the system didn’t send you one, you can request the system to send it to you again. Just include the term password as the subject of the email.
To get a list of all commands you can send to the system, include the term help as the subject of the email.
To see who is on the list, use the phrase who password as the subject of the email, but use your actual password instead of the term password.
