Congratulations to Alabama’s most awarded homebrewer, John Tipton and Nashville homebrewing hippie Chris Lehmann, for placing in the 2009 National Homebrew Competition. Both are members of Huntsville’s Rocket City Brewers.
John won a bronze medal for his Russian Imperial Stout, in a category with 374 entries.

Congratulations to Stephen on winning another ribbon in a MidSouth Series competition. The 2008 BrewMasters Open (Atlanta) results were recently posted.

Scott received another 2nd place this past weekend. This time the competition was the 20th annual Bluff City Brewers & Connoisseurs Homebrew Extravaganza, and Scott placed in the English Pale Ale category with his Extra Special Bitter. We had a great meeting last night at Stephen’s. Thanks to everyone who brought the many varieties of homebrews we were able to sample and discuss. Of the Saisons samples, the general consensus was that the 4 homebrewed versions were better than the Saison du Pont, which is remarkable.
